the self-care toolkit

adding more self care to your life

Overwhelmed. Tired. Annoyed. Frustrated. Bored. These are signs that it may be time to take a step back a take a breather. None of these feelings are bad. They can be indicators that you need to tune in. There could be information for you. The next time you are experiencing less than desirable feelings, ask yourself what is this trying to tell me. Is there someone in your life that you could afford to spend less time with? Are you needing a shift in your professional life? Are you meeting your needs cheaply. The information available to you can inspire change and freedom.

Aside from processing these feelings, you can create space in your life to nourish and let the feelings surface. Often people are bogged down in their day to day routines, habits and patterns that their inner self doesn't get a chance to express itself. One way to open up this space is to create the self-care tool kit.

Get out a piece of paper, and create 5 columns: 1 minute, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 30 minutes and 1 hour. You can customize your columns to suit you. Under each column, list activities that are nourishing to you. Activities that are life giving, de-stressing, that support you and your well-being and clarity. Some examples include: meditation, breathing, walk, calling a friend, watching something funny, taking a nap or bath, reading. This is for you. Get as creative as you want to. The next time you find yourself in a less than desirable mental state, take a moment, ask yourself what you need, see how much free time you can create and pick an activity that you can nourish yourself in that moment or day.

It's that simple. You can update your self-care tool kit whenever you want to! Or download one here.
