Support Your Well-Being in Different Times
by Linda Andrews
We live in uncertain times. In my life, I’ve weathered hurricanes, 9/11, and my own mental health challenges. Yet what we are collectively facing now feels different. The questions can swirl: Will there be lockdowns? Can I travel? Will people get sick, lose jobs, or go hungry? What will happen to the economy?
As humans, we crave certainty. We also need a measure of uncertainty to grow. Right now, most of us are experiencing more uncertainty than ever before. It is uncomfortable, but it can also be an invitation.
Shifting Your Focus
I found myself consumed by the news, checking updates incessantly, even diving into conspiracy theories. Then I realized: awareness and responsibility do not have to mean obsession.
I shifted my focus inward. I noticed the quality of my thoughts and began welcoming in higher-vibe ones. I returned to a simple mantra that has guided me for years: make things better.
When faced with uncertainty, we have a choice. We can spiral, or we can choose to create moments of clarity, presence, and hope.
Creating Space for Well-Being
Even in constraint, we can cultivate gratitude for freedoms we’ve experienced, creativity to design solutions, and sacred time to reconnect with ourselves. This can be as simple as slowing down, listening to your thoughts, and giving yourself permission to rest.
If you are feeling stuck, here are ideas to shift your energy and support your well-being:
Drink water
Stretch or move your body
Meditate or breathe deeply
Journal or write down your swirling thoughts
Read, learn, or listen to a podcast
Cook a nourishing meal
Clean, organize, or reset your environment
Connect with a loved one
Pet your pet, garden, or spend time in nature
Create something: art, music, writing, vision board
Small actions create momentum. The key is not to do everything, but to choose one thing that supports you right now.
Clarity and freedom are possible, even in uncertain times.
