The Energy Audit

Finding Your Flow Before the Fall

It happens every year. A new season approaches, and I realize I’ve been pouring time, energy, and attention into things that aren’t moving the needle. Sometimes it’s because I’ve been busy with what feels urgent. Sometimes it’s habits that have quietly crept in.

This is why I do an energy audit before each seasonal shift. It’s a simple check-in to see if how I’m spending my time, attention, and money is aligned with what matters most.

Why it works: Without realizing it, we can give too much to what is disempowering and not enough to what is empowering. Adding in what supports you can naturally crowd out what doesn’t.

Here’s how to do it:

  1. Track for one week – Capture where your time, energy, attention, and money go. Use phone notes, paper and pen, or a paper planner — whatever you’ll actually use.

  2. Score each activity – Label each as empowering or disempowering.

  3. Make one swap – Remove one disempowering activity and replace it with something empowering. This is where “adding in” becomes your antidote to chaos.

The result? More focus, more alignment, and momentum you can actually feel.
