Your Future
A Simple Guide to Building a Life You Love
You are already shaping your future, one choice, one breath, one thought at a time. Even if life feels unfair or confusing, there is power inside you.
This guide will help you find that power, listen to your inner voice, and grow stronger every day.
We’ll explore: Values, Vision, Purpose, Steps Forward, and Your Inner Voice.
What Is “Lila”?
Lila (pronounced LEE-luh) comes from Sanskrit, one of the world’s oldest languages. It means “divine play.”
Lila reminds us that even in hard times, life can be full of curiosity, creativity, and joy.
It’s about using your passions and gifts, the things you naturally love or do well, to make your world brighter.
That’s your Lila, your unique, divine play.
Your Body, Mind, & Nervous System
When life is stressful or unfair, your body might stay on alert, ready to fight, freeze, or shut down. This is called survival mode. It’s not your fault; it’s your body trying to keep you safe.
You can help yourself feel calmer:
Take 3 slow breaths, in through your nose, out through your mouth.
Feel your feet on the floor.
Look around and name 3 things that feel safe or steady.
Say quietly, “I’m okay right now.”
When your body feels safe, your mind can dream again.
VALUES: What Matters Most to You
Your values are what your heart knows is right. They guide your choices, even when no one’s watching.
Examples:
Kindness
Honesty
Learning
Freedom
Respect
Calm
Family
Health
Try this:
Write or think about 3 things that matter most to you.
Ask:
“When I do this, do I feel stronger or smaller?”
That’s how you can tell if something is empowering or disempowering.
VISION: What You Want for Your Life
Your vision is the picture in your mind of the life you want. It doesn’t need to be perfect or final, it just needs to be yours.
Try this:
Close your eyes and imagine your best life:
What does your day look like?
Who is kind to you?
What are you proud of?
How do you feel when you wake up?
Even if people around you don’t live like that yet, that’s okay. When your mind can see it, your heart can start to believe it.
PURPOSE: Why You Want What You Want
Your purpose is your why. It’s what gives your goals meaning and keeps you moving forward.
Examples:
“I want to learn so I can help others.”
“I want to work for myself so I can take care of my family.”
“I want to create art so people feel less alone.”
Try this:
“I want to ___ because ___.”
Your purpose can grow and change. Sometimes, what hurt you most becomes what helps you help others.
Baby Steps
Even in an unfair world, small steps build big change. You don’t need money or luck to begin, just consistency.
Try this:
Read or watch something that teaches a skill.
Ask someone older how they learned what they know.
Save a few dollars, even coins.
Move your body when you feel stressed.
Write down one good thing each day.
Every time you choose something empowering, you grow stronger.
Every time you notice something disempowering, you learn what to release.
Awareness is power.
Learning to Listen
Inside you is a quiet voice, your inner voice.
It’s not loud like fear or anger.
It’s calm, honest, and kind.
It helps you know what feels right or wrong, even when others disagree.
Sometimes, when life has been loud or painful, that voice gets buried. But it’s always there, waiting for you to listen.
Try this:
Sit still for a minute.
Place your hand on your heart.
Take a deep breath.
Ask yourself: “What do I need right now?”
Listen for the answer, it might be words, a feeling, or just peace.
Your inner voice often says:
“You can do this.”
“You are enough.”
“You deserve safety and love.”
Learning to trust that voice is how you build your own compass. No matter what’s happening outside, you can find your way from within.
Prosperity + Wellbeing
Prosperity means having enough, safety, money, time, and love, to live your passions, dreams and gifts.
Wellbeing means feeling calm, healthy, and connected inside and to others.
You can have both. Every act of care, courage, and learning builds prosperity and wellbeing together.
Ask yourself:
What matters most to me?
What do I want for my future?
Why do I want it?
What’s one small step I can take this month?
What does my inner voice say about it?
You are the future.
And your Lila, your divine play, is how you bring light, joy, and possibility into the world.
